The Interweaving of Acousmatic Sound and Projected Imagery
CC2 develops audiovisual performances at the intersection of projected sound and light, live performance, and visual projections merge into spatial perceptual situations where sound, image, and movement emerge as equal compositional elements.
Drawing from the concept of acousmatic music, we understand sound as a projected form: a sound appearing without a visible source opens an imaginary space in the listener’s consciousness. We extend this concept into the visual realm. Projections become fluid image-spaces that intertwine with sound, generating new layers of perception. The result is audiovisual constellations where reality, imagination, and spatial experience overlap.
Composition, Performance, and the Genesis of Digital Editions
Our practice navigates the space between composition and performance. Fixed media provides a structural foundation, while live elements—such as gesture, projection, and performative interventions—dynamically transform the environment. The performance becomes an open event in which sound and image are continuously reconfigured.
As a consistent continuation of the live intervention, we develop a Digital Edition from every event. These digital artifacts serve as both artistic documentation and independent collector’s objects, translating the ephemerality of the performance into a permanent, digital form.
Artistic Research: Spatial Perception as Compositional Material
CC2 is specifically interested in the perception of space: How are acoustic and visual spaces constructed? How does the perspective of the listener and viewer shift? Through the synthesis of electroacoustic sound, projection, and performative presence, we create immersive situations that engage the audience as active perceivers.
CC2 defines audiovisual performance as the art of projected spaces—an interplay that dissolves the boundary between physical presence and digital permanence.
